Trinity Sunday

On this beautiful Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, I offer you this prayer inspired by a young Carmelite Sister who died at the age of 26, after having lived her life in union with the HolyTrinity.

O most Holy Trinity, tender Father, beloved Jesus, precious Holy Spirit, You have chosen to dwell within each soul. This day I rejoice and thank You for Your presence within me in this humble heart of mine. I can scarcely believe this, but my faith tells me it is true.

This day I bow before the majesty of Your holiness, offering my humanity to You who created me, who redeems me, who sanctifies me. I thank You that You have chosen me with all my sisters and brothers to be Your Calvary, yes, even (dare I say it?) Your heaven. O angels, especially my own dear angel, do you not stand in awe of this privilege granted to us creatures? I praise You, most Holy God. In the face of this unspeakably wondrous privilege, I, sinful by nature but redeemed by Mercy, offer myself to You completely, asking that by Your grace I might become a shelter for You from all that wounds You, disrespects You, profanes You, and disregards You.

Countless times I have wounded You, and countless times you have forgiven me. So I ask that by Your grace and power alone, O most beautiful Trinity, You might find in me a place of tenderness, of consuming desire for You, of purity and docility. May Your fragrance fill my small world through the witness of my life, O Father of my soul, O Son Who gave Yourself up for me, O Holy Breath of Love. I want to be Yours for time and for eternity. Be my holiness and my Love, now and forever, Amen.
