O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
He has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.
Amen.
Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help
1. Behold, O Mother of Perpetual Help, at thy feet a wretched sinner, who has recourse to thee and trusts in thee. O Mother of mercy, have pity on me; I hear all men call thee the refuge and hope of sinners: be therefore my refuge and my hope. Help me for the love of Jesus Christ: hold out thy hand to a fallen wretch, who commends himself to thee and dedicates himself to be thy servant forever. I praise and thank God, who of His great mercy hath given me this confidence in thee, a sure pledge of my eternal salvation. Alas, it is only too true that in the past I have fallen miserably, because I did not come to thee. I know that with thy help I shall conquer; I know that thou wilt help me, if I commend myself to thee; but I am fearful lest in the occasions of sin I shall forget to call upon thee and so I shall be lost. This grace, then, do I ask of thee; for this I implore thee, as much as I can and know how to do; namely, that in the assaults of hell I may ever run to thy protection and may say to thee: Mary, help me; Mother of Perpetual Help, permit me not to lose my God.
Hail Mary, three times.
2. O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant me ever to be able to call upon thy powerful name, since thy name is the help of the living and the salvation of the dying. Ah, Mary most pure, Mary most sweet, grant that thy name from this day forth may be to me the very breath of life. Dear Lady, delay not to come to my assistance whenever I call upon thee; for in all the temptations that assail me, in all the necessities that befall me, I will never leave off calling upon thee, ever repeating: Mary, Mary. What comfort, what sweetness, what confidence, what tenderness fills my soul at the sound of thy name, at the very thought of thee! I give thanks to our Lord, who for my sake hath given thee a name so sweet, so lovable, so mighty. But I am not content merely to speak thy name; I would utter it for very love of thee; it is my desire that love should ever remind me to name thee, Mother of Perpetual Help.
Hail Mary, three times.
3. O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of every grace that God grants us in our misery; it is for this cause that He hath made thee so powerful, so rich, so kind, that thou mightest assist us in our miseries. Thou art the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners, if they but come unto thee; come once more to my assistance, for I commend myself to thee. In thy hands I place my eternal salvation; to thee I entrust my soul. Enroll me among thy most faithful servants; take me under thy protection and it is enough for me: yes, for if thou protect me, I shall fear nothing; not my sins, for thou wilt obtain for me their pardon and remission; not the evil spirits, for thou art mightier than all the powers of hell; not even Jesus, my Judge, for He is appeased by a single prayer from thee. I fear only that through my own negligence I may forget to recommend myself to thee and so I shall be lost. My dear Lady, obtain for me the forgiveness of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance and the grace to have recourse to thee at all times, O Mother of Perpetual Help.
Hail Mary, three times.
St. Michael Prayer
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Prayers of the Rosary
The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
The Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
The Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
The Fatima Prayer: After each decade of the Rosary, the following prayer requested by our Blessed Mother at Fatima may be prayed:
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.
The Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee we do cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Rosary Prayer: After praying 5 decades of the Rosary, this final prayer is added to the “Hail, Holy Queen” to complete the recitation of the Rosary:
O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech You, that by meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may learn to imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Divine Mercy Novena: Day 9
Intention of the day: Today bring to Me souls who have become lukewarm, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully.
Meditations of the Rosary
Stations of the Cross: Year of Mercy Reflection
Written by a Sister of Charity
The First Station: Jesus is Condemned to Death
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, You stood innocent before Pontius Pilate. You are on trial yet You have committed no crime. You are silent even though You know Your silence will condemn You to death. From this station, Jesus, You teach me that many times throughout my life I will be misunderstood. Many will speak ill of me and judge me unjustly. You have taught me that these things will happen because they happened to You. Mercy teaches me that what matters is how I react to the one causing the injustice. Sweet Jesus, may I be merciful as You are merciful.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for loving me into being with a love stronger than death. Amen.
The Second Station: Jesus Takes Up His Cross
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, You are God! Why did You allow Yourself to carry such a heavy cross? Some days I feel my cross is unbearable. I feel the burden of life and the heavy burden of a past I had no control of. You did not cause this evil in my life. Your merciful Father asked You to carry Your cross so You in turn could help me carry mine.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for carrying me when I had not the strength to carry my own cross. Amen.
The Third Station: Jesus Falls the First Time
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, I see You crushed under the heavy weight of Your cross. You don’t stay on the ground. You get back up and continue on Your journey regardless of how You feel. From this station, You have taught me that during my life I will fall many times. I should not focus on the falling. I should focus on the getting back up. Sweet Jesus, You pick me up every time I fall. You are very merciful to me. Help me to be merciful to others when they fall as well.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for winning for me the grace of beginning over and over again by Your mercy. Amen.
The Fourth Station: Jesus meets His Mother
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, words will never be able to describe what took place between You and Your mother the second Your eyes met. When You were born, Mary gently placed You in a wooden feeding box and now she watches You carry a wooden beam to Your crucifixion, You death. You are so sorrowful, Mary, yet You do not interfere with God’s Will. You are one with Your Son on his journey to Calvary. Mary, You are truly the Mother of Mercy. In times of crisis, my Mother, teach me Your gentle way.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for giving me Your Mother to show me the grace of surrender. Amen.
The Fifth Station: Simon helps Jesus Carry His Cross
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, You are God. You could have carried Your cross by Yourself with no effort. I believe You gave me this station to teach me about compassion. Without compassion, there is no meaning to life. When we show compassion and mercy to others we find our place and are truly fulfilled.
Sweet Jesus, help me to be a Simon to others, especially to those who are carrying the heaviest cross.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for being my own Simon when I lose my way as I try to follow You faithfully. Amen.
The Sixth Station: Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, while everyone was insulting You and laughing at You, Veronica had the courage to wipe Your face. She heard violence all around her, yet fearless, she stepped in front of You to show You love. You teach me, Sweet Jesus, that in the midst of chaos, I can be an instrument of peace and mercy.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for loving me when my sins make me feel so unworthy of it. Amen.
The Seventh Station: Jesus Falls for the Second Time
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
How hard it is, dear Jesus, to carry our cross. If You who are God could fall a second time, how many times will I fall? Your forgiveness and mercy have no bounds. You love me even when I fall. You probably love me more when I fall. You are my Good Shepherd picking me up, placing me upon Your shoulders and bringing me back to the fold. In Your mercy, help me, Sweet Jesus, to learn from my failures and mistakes. Help me to be as understanding and merciful to others as You are to me.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for shepherding me home time after time, in Your great Mercy. Amen.
The Eighth Station: Jesus Speaks to the Daughters of Jerusalem
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, were Veronica’s actions enough to have the women of Jerusalem step forward and weep for You? They, too, heard the angry mob, the violent cursing and continuous insults. These women were a light in the darkness on Your road to Calvary. I, too, want to be a light in the darkness. Sweet Jesus, the Saints and Your Mother are my role models. Let Your mercy shine through me. Help me to be a light and not hide my light like the jeering crowd.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for the witness of those who love You even in the face of persecution. Amen.
The Ninth Station: Jesus Falls the Third Time
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, three out of fourteen of the stations are about You falling. Not once, not twice, but three times. What does this mean for me?
My failures and sins cause me to fall daily. I also have patterns of behavior that weigh me down. I am inspired to glance back at the previous stations. As long as there is compassion and mercy as there was with Mary, Simon, Veronica and the women of Jerusalem, there will always be hope.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for the people You have placed in my life who believe in me for Your mercy’s sake. Amen.
The Tenth Station: Jesus is stripped of His Garments
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, You allowed Yourself to be stripped of Your garments. This reminds me of a lamb being sheared of its wool. You are the Lamb of God proclaimed by John the Baptist. You and the lamb are one. Neither opposes what is meant to be. In Your mercy I am stripped as well, not of my garments, but of my past sins and behaviors that would prevent me from standing before You as a sacrificial Bride of Christ.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for Your humiliation that teaches me to be humble.
The Eleventh Station: Jesus is nailed to the Cross
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, You are God! My heart cries out, Holy, Holy, Holy! Your hands and feet are nailed to the cross. Your Precious Blood begins to trickle down the cross to the parched lifeless earth beneath You. Your life is ebbing away, bringing new life to those around You. Your disciples will look at their hands and feet and see them in a way they have never seen them before.
Our hands and feet now become Your hands and feet spreading mercy wherever we go.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for Your invitation to be an icon of Mercy to all whose lives touch mine. Amen.
The Twelfth Station: Jesus Dies on the Cross
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Now You have become the true Lamb of God.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus. I am grateful You gave Your life for me so I could live life to the fullest. May I love others as You have loved me. Amen.
The Thirteenth Station: Jesus is placed in the arms of His Mother
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, I often wonder if the lambs sacrificed in the temple rested in the arms of the priest as You rested in the arms of Your Mother. No more violence for You, Jesus. No more insults. No more pain. All has been surrendered to the Father.
All appears to be lost except to Mary. Everyone but Mary fails to see that Your Precious Blood nurtures the seeds of Your future disciples.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for giving me Your Mother to be my Mother. Make me a worthy daughter of Mary. Amen.
The Fourteenth Station: Jesus is laid in the tomb
We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You,
Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.
Dear Jesus, I have contemplated my own death many times. I believe my soul will live forever. I am depending on You for mercy at the hour of my death.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on me and on the whole world.
Let us pray: Thank You, Jesus, for loving me to the end. May I love You to Eternal Life. Amen.
