Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
Patron Saint of Grief
Feast Day: January 4
Welcome to the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Chapel. Throughout the world candles are lit seeking the intercession of the saints for many reasons. Today, we turn to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton seeking her intercession for grief and for all those intentions you hold in your heart.
While you are here you might take time to pray for others as well. The candles below represent the most recent intentions submitted for prayer. We have included a prayer in honor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton that may be used, or you may simply pray from you heart. God has given us this beautiful gift of prayer; what better way to say thank you to Him than to offer it back to Him for others.
Dear St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, patron saint of those who are enduring grief, and of the great Catholic educational system in America, hear the words of my heart as I pray for (offer your intentions). Please ask Jesus to soothe the wounds of those who grieve the loss of a loved one as you did while you were on earth. And please bend low to bless the teachers and students in our Catholic schools in these troubled times. May there be many who will reach out to help our schools financially, and may our government look kindly on our teachers and parents who offer great sacrifices to keep our schools open that many children may come to know the love of God and His teachings. We ask all this of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, through your intercession, dear St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Amen.
