Tuesday of Holy Week

Tuesday of Holy Week

Holy Tuesday highlights Jesus’ teaching in Jerusalem and His foretelling of betrayal and denial. Even among His closest friends, weakness and fear begin to surface.

  • Meaning: “Holy Tuesday” signifies that this is the third day of Holy Week. Sometimes known as “Fig Tuesday” because of Jesus’ cursing the Fig Tree on His way from Bethany to Jerusalem.
  • Scripture:
    • First Reading: Isaiah 49:1-6
    • Gospel: John 13:21-33, 36-38

Take a moment to pause and reflect…

When have I turned away from Christ out of fear or uncertainty?

Today is a call back to trust, even when faith feels costly.
