The Power of Prayer

We wanted to share a story of encouragement from the recent Eucharistic Congress. You may remember that in the summer of 2024, our Sisters, along with about 60,000 others, journeyed to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National Eucharistic Congress.  It was a time filled with faith, prayer, evangelization, and meeting many new members of our Catholic family.

There we met Travis who encountered Sister Marie Celeste.  In that meeting Sister assured him simply, “I’ll pray for you.”  A little over a year later, we received this message:

“Hi my name is Travis and I had the blessing to meet sister Marie Celeste last year at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis.  I have been praying for her and I hope she is doing well.  When I met her last year I was working as a nurse but now I have been accepted to the seminary for the Diocese of Orange in California.  I know she said she was going to pray for my vocation and I was hoping you could pass the message to Sister. Thank you and God bless you.”

We were so grateful to hear from Travis.  We did remember meeting Travis and we have held him in prayer.  Those simple words, “I’ll pray for you,” carried by faith, have since blossomed into something remarkable: Travis continued his journey and has now entered the seminary to begin his formation for the priesthood.

What a reminder of the power of prayer and the quiet ways God speaks through His servants! Please join us in praying for Travis and all seminarians as they continue their sacred journey, that they may be strengthened in courage, wisdom, and love for Christ and His Church.

God bless you, let us pray for one another.
