I have always wanted to be a Sister and especially felt this desire in my eighth grade year. In my junior and senior years of high school I worked at Regina Catholic Hospital in Hastings, MN, where I served with the Sisters of Charity. Attending daily Mass and making special visits to Jesus in the Sister’s chapel was a special blessing and drew me closer to Jesus and His will for me to become His bride.
When I was in high school I found it natural to follow God’s Will for me; it was easier to focus on the meaning of vocation during my years than it is today. There are many distractions in the world today that can easily pull our hearts away from what is most important – saying “Yes!” to God’s call. May all of you have the courage to answer God’s call.
